Let the art speak from the heart
Art Therapy

Meet Natasha Lee
Art Therapist (DVATI, RTC, MSc)
Welcome! My name is Natasha, an art therapist based in Richmond and Greater Vancouver with a background in illustration and global public health nutrition who assists clients in attending to social, and emotional well-being. As faith has played a major part in my own journey, I also recognize the importance of spiritual health, which I find can be strengthened through a creative life.

In my work with clients ranging from children to seniors from diverse cultures, I especially lean into play and story telling through the multi-sensory nature of art-making. I believe art is a language of the heart and every act of creation becomes a dialogue between the heart, mind and body or with something mysterious. My hope, as an art therapist, is to accompany clients on this journey towards healing.

I received my art therapy training through the Vancouver Art Therapy Institute and Masters of public health from the University of Westminster UK. I am currently a Registered Therapeutic Counsellor of the Association of Cooperative Counselling Therapists of Canada.

Why Art Therapy?
Creative Play
Playing is essential for all ages. It promotes creative problem solving, builds relationships, and relieves stress through the joy it brings.
Grounding
Colour, texture, and movement engages our senses helping us stay in the present.
Containment
Art-making creates a distance and separation between maker and creation. It helps contain the things we find too difficult to face head-on.
Preverbal Memories
Through art-making and paying attention to the body, we can access what words cannot describe. Through therapy we can begin to make sense of these memories.
Narrative Building
Everyone has stories to tell. It is how we make meaning of ourselves and the world. What stories do you carry?
Mystery
Mysterious things happen all the time. In art therapy there is an acknowledgment and trust in the incredible process of creating, growing and healing.
